Cine Teatro LB

The lighting design for this cinema and theatre started from a challenge: to create completely distinct scenes within a single space.

The first had to deliver broad, diffuse light, covering both the seating and the stage efficiently. The second, more theatrical and intimate, was to light only the aisles — a carpet of light between the seats, keeping the seating area darker and in balance with the stage and the performance.

The design also had to work around an existing constraint: the ceiling had already been specified and could not be changed. The solution was to use the gaps between the panels to house the luminaires, reconciling visual integration, performance and technical precision.

Through photometric calculations and detailed specifications, we developed different lighting possibilities for the space. The diffuse scene is also dimmable, allowing a softer, warmer light without losing legibility of the room as a whole.

The result is a flexible system, able to change the atmosphere of the theatre according to its use, from everyday operation to the experience of a performance.
